POLICIES/TERMS OF SERVICE

At Green Cleaning of Newburyport we strive to offer our clients exceptional service, and the best value for their cleaning dollar. We offer our staff above average pay, in turn getting a long term commitment and a hard-working and dedicated crew. In order to do so we have the following policies and ask that every client reviews and respects our company policies.

CANCELLATION

We understand that life sometimes throws you a curveball. So, if you need to cancel your scheduled cleaning service, we merely require that you give us 24 hours notice. This gives us the opportunity to fill that spot and keep our staff working a full schedule. If Green Cleaning of Newburyport receives less than 24 hours notice, if we cannot access your home, or if our service provider(s) is turned away when they arrive (for any reason), we reserve the right to charge a fee of fifty percent (50%) of the bill due for the service that would have been performed. 

One-Time, Deep, Move In/Move Out, and Post Construction Cleanings generally require a larger staff and more scheduling effort. As such, we require that you give us 48 hours notice. If Green Cleaning of Newburyport receives less than 48 hours notice we reserve the right to charge a minimum fee of $50 per member of the team that was assigned to your home. 

​When we schedule your cleaning service we reserve that time for you and you alone. Our staff depends financially upon your job being there, cancellations cost them dearly. Our clients are vital in helping us to retain our excellent cleaning staff. We understand that you do not want to see different faces each and every time we clean and we don’t want to have a continual revolving door of new hires either.

If your regularly scheduled cleaning is cancelled for more than 6 weeks, we reserve the right to include an upcharge during our next scheduled cleaning due to extended time between cleanings, it will take our staff extra time to meet our cleaning standards.

 

Cancellation payments will have to be made in full prior to our scheduling any further work. All cancellations must be made through the office manager and/or owner by texting or calling both 917-757-9040 and 978-518-2752Please do not tell your cleaner.

ACCESS

You have a couple of options for providing Green Cleaning of Newburyport access to your home:

  • Meet the service provider at your residence. 

  • Leave your door unlocked on the day of your scheduled service.

  • Give a key to your residence to Green Cleaning. Your key will be kept safe and secure with staff.

    • If you choose to terminate service, keys will be returned to your home, mailbox or delivered by mail, at your choosing.

  • If you have an alarm system, please deactivate it before our arrival.​

Please refer to the Cancellation Policy should Green Cleaning of Newburyport be unable to access your home during the preset arrival window.

PAYMENT

Full payment is due the day of your service unless other billing arrangements have been made in advance. We gladly accept cash, check and credit card, via PayPal or Venmo.​

  • If you have made other billing arrangements, payment is due within 5 days of billing. Payments not made within 5 days are subject to a late fee of 10% per week.

A $35 fee will be charged for each returned check.

SCHEDULING

Recurring cleanings are scheduled, but we do not send reminders. You are required to know the date and time of your scheduled cleaning and provide access to your home at that time (refer to our cancellation policy above). 

 

One-Time, Deep, Move In/Move Out, and Post Construction Cleanings are scheduled as needed. Every effort will be made to complete your service within the time allocated. In the event that we need more time we will notify you and give you priority scheduling. 

We strive to have the same staff members clean your home or business on a regular basis, however, this is not guaranteed. Due to vacation, illness or departure from the company, Green Cleaning of Newburyport may occasionally provide a replacement cleaner. If you prefer to cancel your service until your regular cleaner becomes available, we require 24 hours notice, as referenced in our Cancellation Policy. 

If, due to the unique nature of your home, your service providers are unable to complete your cleaning within the standard amount of time, we may call you to ask for authorization to spend more time cleaning your home. We will inform you of additional costs accordingly before proceeding with the work.

ARRIVAL WINDOWS

To ensure quality service for all valued clients, we cannot specify exact arrival times. Arrival windows allow our staff to handle all the variables of each day and each home without affecting the promises we make to you.

We service homes between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00 pm. Service provider(s) will arrive between 8:30am-9:30am and 12:30pm-1:30pm.​

CHILDREN & PETS

Every effort is made to work safely and cautiously, but we cannot assume liability for the safety of others while cleaning your home. This includes children and pets. 

 

For the safety of your children, we ask that they be supervised while our staff and equipment are present in your home.

 

Please secure all pets that are dangerous to our employees inside and outside of your house. We love animals, but Green Cleaning of Newburyport is not responsible for pets while we are in your home including any supplies they may have access to. We do not clean up pet messes inside or outside.

Please note that although you may think your pet is friendly, sometimes having a cleaner in their home can make them nervous. If our staff feels unsafe around your pet they may request that you put them away or we may come back at another time (this could be subject to our Cancellation Policy).

FRAGILE ITEMS/BREAKAGE

WE ASSUME NO LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ITEMS THAT ARE NOT SECURED PROPERLY OR THAT WERE DAMAGED PRIOR TO OUR CLEANING. (Example: heavy pictures hanging from thumbtacks, any type of floating shelves, etc.) Curio or knick-knack items of extreme value, (monetary or sentimental) should be stored in a case behind glass or dusted & cleaned by the owner. All surfaces (i.e.: Marble, Granite, hardwood floors, etc.) are assumed to be properly sealed and ready to clean without causing harm when common cleaners are used.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

We love to help out with your special requests, but they need to be approved in advance of your cleaning by the owner or manager by sending us an email. This ensures that your cleaning team, who is responsible for cleaning several homes each day, will be able to accommodate your special requests without impacting our other clients needs for arrival times. Please do not ask staff directly on the day of your service. In the event that special requests are performed, without prior approval, we reserve the right to charge accordingly for those services.

TRASH

All small waste baskets are emptied into the main kitchen trash can. We do not empty the kitchen trash cans, take trash out, or take trash with us. 

CRITTERS & BUGS

If our staff enters your home and discovers an infestation of cockroaches, mice or even bed bugs we reserve the right to cancel services and charge a cancellation fee.

GRATUITY

While gratuity is not required, it is very much appreciated and a great way to say thanks to your cleaning crew!

HOLIDAYS

Green Cleaning of Newburyport is closed on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your regular cleaning lands on one of these days we will reschedule you to another day. If you will be out of town or on vacation during a holiday week please let our office know as soon as possible to avoid a cancellation fee.

GUARANTEE

We strive to exceed your expectations for quality cleaning services. We inspect our work before leaving your home. Occasionally and without intention our crew may miss something. While we do not offer refunds on services that have been provided, we will return and re-clean any areas of concern. You must contact us within 24-hours of initial service and we will come back and clean the specific areas that did not meet your expectations. 

HEALTH MATTERS

We ask that you notify our office by 7:30am if you or anyone in your family is sick or has a contagious illness so that we can take precautions or choose to re-schedule your job. We will also never send one of our team members into your home if we know that they are ill. 

 

COVID 

We'd like to provide our clients with a few assurances​​ which we are taking to provide a safe​ and clean​ environment for our customers:

  • Staff are required to wear a mask while in a client's home.

  • We offer vaccinated staff upon request, simply email or text 917-757-9040 and 978-518-2752.

  • ​Staff have been asked to stay ​at ​home and test if they are ​showing flu-like symptoms.

  • We are asking clients to advise​ us​ if they have tested positive for COVID or have been exposed.

 

In regards to your cleanings and how they can be helpful during the pandemic, please remember that we sanitize your home at each cleaning. Sanitizing is meant to make something clean and healthy​ and will kill 99.9% of the bacteria in your home. In general, sanitizing is preferred, because many of bacteria left behind are harmless to people; and exposure to germs can help to bolster your immune system, reducing the chance that you’ll get sick later.

 

Disinfecting a surface will kill the microorganisms, pathogens and bacteria at 100% (unfortunately, while also killing the good bacteria). Given the pandemic that’s currently afflicting the world, we are offering our clients the option to have us disinfect your surfaces, as part of your regular cleaning, please let us know in advance of your cleaning if that's what you prefer.
