The Ins And Outs of How We Do Business

  • What products do you use?
    At Green Cleaning of Newburyport, we have carefully chosen products* that are free of harsh chemicals, are biodegradable and toxin-free. We use microfiber cloths and mop heads because microfiber is environmentally friendly and can reduce your chemical intake by up to 90% while at the same time removing 99.9% of bacteria. Because we provide green cleaning services we do not allow the use of feather dusters, indoor brooms or non-microfiber cloths. We purchase products in bulk, recycle our bottles and implement efficient cleaning practices to reduce waste. We use only Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaners. It’s HEPA filter helps clean the air you breathe and the bagless design is approved for allergy sufferers. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter and is designed to trap 99.97% of all particles that inhabit our homes and office, including dust, dust mites, mold, pollen, insect parts, ashes, bacteria, animal dander, hair, etc. At Green Cleaning of Newburyport we continuously research to make sure our products are the best available. *On occasion we need to use SOS pads and/or Magic Erasers, which are non-toxic but not environmentally friendly. If you do not wish to have these used in your home please notify us in advance by email.
  • Can I cancel services while I'm on vacation?
    When you decide to take some time off, and it occurs during your scheduled cleaning times, please let us know if you wish to skip a service appointment, as someone else may want your time slot while you are away.
  • What happens during inclement weather?
    As we all know, New England weather can be unpredictable. If we, at Green Cleaning of Newburyport, feel that it’s unsafe to send staff out or staff is unequipped to get to your location safely, you will receive notification by email and/or text and we will re-schedule your cleaning as soon as possible. We require that you clear your walkways and driveways for the safety of our staff. If staff is unable to access your home due to snow or ice not being cleared, you may be subject to our cancellation policy.
  • What happens if I forget to leave my door unlocked?
    Unfortunately, If you are unable to give your service provider access to your home in a timely manner your cleaning will be cancelled for that day and subject to our cancellation policy. Our staff have multiple jobs per day and delays such as this result in delays to other clients, which is unfair to them.
  • Do you provide references?
    Yes, Green Cleaning of Newburyport would be more than happy to provide you with a list of references and contact information to allow you to inquire of their experience.
  • How many people will be there to clean my home?
    The size of the Green Cleaning of Newburyport team depends on the size of your home and condition.
  • Do I have to be home during my cleaning?
    No. In fact, many of our clients prefer us to clean when they’re out of the house.
  • Do I need to provide any equipment or supplies?
    No. We furnish everything needed to clean your home. We have researched and selected supplies that are safer for you, your family, your pets, and the environment.
  • Do you wash the dishes or take out the trash?
    Sorry to say that we do not do dishes. We require that the sink be free of all dishes so that we can get to it in order to clean. All of the trash is emptied from the small waste baskets into the kitchen trash can. We do not take any trash with us when we leave.
  • What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?
    Green Cleaning of Newburyport is closed on New Years Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If your regular cleaning lands on one of these days we will reschedule you to another day. If you will be out of town or on vacation during a holiday week please let our office know as soon as possible to avoid a cancellation fee.
  • I have pets, is that a problem?"
    Of course not, many of our clients have pets! Our employees love pets and are happy to have them around, as long as the pets feel the same way. But, please keep in mind that we are not responsible for your pets. Please secure all pets that are dangerous to our employees inside and outside of your house. We love animals, but Green Cleaning of Newburyport is not responsible for pets while we are in your home including any supplies they may have access to. We do not clean up pet messes inside or outside. ​ Please note that although you may think your pet is friendly, sometimes having a cleaner in their home can make them nervous. If our staff feels unsafe around your pet they may request that you put them away or we may come back at another time (this could be subject to our Cancellation Policy).
  • When is my payment due?
    Payment is due the day of service. We accept cash, check, Venmo or PayPal. If you have made other billing arrangements, payment is due within 5 days of billing, or is subject to additional fees.
  • Do you offer turn around cleanings?
    We sure do! We have a number of clients who rent out homes using Airbnb, VRBO, etc. We get the rentals cleaned efficiently as well as provide laundry service.
  • Do you have Green Cleaning of Newburyport gift certificates?
    Absolutely! Gift certificates are a thoughtful and much appreciated gift for new parents, college students, a family dealing with a stressful time, or just as a treat for a good friend. Buy one today!

Billing & Pricing

Payments Accepted

Full payment is due the day of your service unless other billing arrangements have been made in advance. We gladly accept cash, check and credit card, via PayPal or Venmo.​​

 

If you have made other billing arrangements, payment is due within 5 days of billing. Payments not made within 5 days are subject to a late fee of 10% per week.

A $35 fee will be charged for each returned check.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life sometimes throws you a curveball. So, if you need to cancel your scheduled cleaning service, we merely require that you give us 24-hours notice. This gives us the opportunity to fill that spot and keep our staff working a full schedule. If Green Cleaning of Newburyport receives less than 24 hours notice, if we cannot access your home, or if our service provider(s) is turned away when they arrive (for any reason), we reserve the right to charge a fee of fifty percent (50%) of the bill due for the service that would have been performed. 

One-Time, Deep, Move In/Move Out, and Post Construction Cleanings generally require a larger staff and more scheduling effort. As such, we require that you give us 48-hours notice of cancellation. If Green Cleaning of Newburyport receives less than 48-hours notice we reserve the right to charge a minimum fee of $50 per member of the team that was assigned to your home or business. 

All cancellations must be made through the office manager and/or owner by texting or calling both 917-757-9040 and 978-518-2752.

We strive to exceed your expectations for quality cleaning services. We inspect our work before leaving your home. Occasionally and without intention our crew may miss something. While we do not offer refunds on services that have been provided, we will return on the same day and re-clean any areas of concern. If you are not available the same day, it will have to be as our schedule allows. You must contact us within 24-hours of initial service and we will come back and clean the specific area that did not meet your expectations.
