What is the cancellation policy?


We understand that emergencies sometimes do arise unexpectedly. If you need to cancel a housecleaning appointment, we request that you give us 24 hours notice; otherwise, Green Cleaning reserves the right to charge for a full cleaning and at minimum will charge a $50.00 fee.




What If I go on vacation?


When you decide to take some time off, and it occurs during your scheduled cleaning times, please let us know if you wish to skip a service appointment, as someone else may want your time slot while you are away.




What happens during inclement weather?


As we all know, the weather can be unpredictable. If we decide it’s unsafe to send staff out, you will receive a timely phone call, and we will re-schedule your cleaning as soon as possible. We also request that you clear your driveways and sidewalks for our safety.




What happens if I forget to leave my door unlocked?


The first one is on us, however, all subsequent occurrences will be billed as a cancellation. We make every effort to contact you in the event of a lockout, to prevent additional charges.




What forms of payment do you accept?


We accept cash, check and credit card, via PayPal or Venmo. Payment is due at the time of service unless other billing arrangements are made in advance.




Do you provide references?


Yes, Green Cleaning would be more than happy to provide you with a list of references and contact information to allow you to inquire of their experience.




What if I'm unhappy with my service?


If for any reason you aren’t happy with our professional cleaning services, contact us immediately. We will come back and clean the specific areas that didn’t meet your expectation. Simply notify us within 24-hours of your initial cleaning service.




How many people will clean my home?


The size of the Green Cleaning team depends on the size of your home and condition.




Do I have to be home during my cleaning?


No. In fact, many of our clients prefer us to clean when they’re out of the house.




Do I need to provide any equipment or supplies?


No. We furnish everything needed to clean your home. We have researched and selected supplies that are safer for you, your family, your pets, and the environment.




What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?


If your scheduled cleaning falls on a holiday that we observe, we will contact you to make alternative arrangements. Generally, we observe New Years Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.




I have pets, is that a problem?


Most of our clients have pets. Our employees love pets and are happy to have them around, as long as the pets feel the same way! But, please keep in mind that we are not responsible for your pets, that includes cleaning up pet messes. Please also note that if you have a pet that likes to chew on shoes or other items, we ask that you crate them.

What products do you use?


At Green Cleaning of Newburyport, we have carefully chosen products* that are free of harsh chemicals, are biodegradable and toxin-free. We use microfiber cloths and mop heads because microfiber is environmentally friendly and can reduce your chemical intake by up to 90% while at the same time removing 99.9% of bacteria. Because we provide green cleaning services we do not allow the use of feather dusters, indoor brooms or non-microfiber cloths. We purchase products in bulk, recycle our bottles and implement efficient cleaning practices to reduce waste. We use only Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaners. It’s HEPA filter helps clean the air you breathe and the bagless design is approved for allergy sufferers. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter and is designed to trap 99.97% of all particles that inhabit our homes and office, including dust, dust mites, mold, pollen, insect parts, ashes, bacteria, animal dander, hair, etc. At Green Cleaning of Newburyport we continuously research to make sure our products are the best available. *On occasion we need to use SOS pads and/or Magic Erasers, which are non-toxic but not environmentally friendly. If you do not wish to have these used in your home please advise.
